At Grange View C.E First School we value reading as an essential part of the whole curriculum. We aim for all children to be able to read with confidence and understanding whilst enjoying the wide range of books that we provide for them. We encourage children to discuss the books they have read with each other and with adults both at school and at home.
 
To help them develop their phonics we use Read, Write Inc, alongside quality first teaching, guided reading sessions and home readers to reinforce skills at home.
