Summer Week 10 - WB: 29/06/2020

Monday: THE SUMMER READING CHALLENGE HAS BEEN LAUNCHED!
Every year we pride ourselves as a school for promoting a love of reading by finishing in the top five schools and libraries in the county for the summer reading challenge. We love the relationship we have built with Cathy and our local library and would love that support to be continued during lockdown. We know many of you have been accessing craft and activity packs from the lovely Cathy each week so why not now show your appreciation by doing the online summer reading challenge. Please follow the link to sign up https://summerreadingchallenge.org.uk/ then send in some picture of you all set up – there are some great games to play on the site too!
Tuesday: Apparently it was National Camera Day yesterday so we thought it would be lovely for you to take some pictures either with a camera or a family members phone or tablet. Could you capture pictures of things that make you happy – these could be on a walk or in your own home and garden. It would be great to make a big compilation of all your pictures so get snapping.
Wednesday: Today is national postal worker day so why not make a card or gift to say thank you to your postie. It would be great to see the lovely pictures or creations that show your appreciation.
Thursday:This week is national UFO day. Why not get junk modelling, drawing, computer creating and make your own alien. What colours would you use? How many eyes or legs will it have? It will be fun to see all your creations.
Friday: We were delighted to be awarded the virtual school games award last week, so thought as recommended by the Year 1 pod we should have fitness Friday. What sport or physical activity could you do today? Could you get your whole family involved? Why not log on to our school Travel to Tokyo account and log your activities – we are already making some great progress. Please log it on https://www.getset.co.uk/travel-tokyo/log-activity. The school’s postcode is NE61 5LZ, then just select your child’s key stage for their team.
